Wheat

Our mission

Bring great people together to do their life's best work.

One bad hire is one too many — but finding A-players can feel impossible. We're building Wheat to change that, in the open, alongside the teams who care about it as much as we do.

Why we're building Wheat

The single biggest factor in whether a company does great work is the people in it. Yet hiring — the decision that matters most — still runs on gut feel, polished résumés, and skills tests that miss the point. One wrong call can quietly demotivate your best people, breed resentment, and push a team toward bureaucracy and mistrust.

We think there's a better way. The qualities that make someone exceptional — being proactive, learning fast, owning outcomes, communicating clearly — are general, not role-specific. They're also the hardest to see in an interview. Wheat is being built to surface them fairly, so you can hire for genuine fit and raw capability rather than a keyword match.

What we believe

The best people want to be around others they can collaborate with and learn from. A-players compound — every great hire raises the bar and makes the next one easier, while every weak link drags the whole team the other way. A team with zero weak links delivers beyond its spec, moves fast without breaking trust, and is proud of what it's part of. That's the team we want to help you build.

This is a partnership

We're early — in discovery, talking to teams, and shaping Wheat around real hiring problems rather than assumptions. We're not here to sell you a generic testing tool. We're here to get the best people into your company, and to learn alongside the teams who care about this as much as we do.

Let's build your future team

If hiring nothing but A-players sounds like your kind of obsession, we should talk.
